AN “eyesore” built next to Dylan Thomas’ Boat House in Laugharne must be pulled down. Villagers have claimed the lift-shaft built at Ferry House, next to the poet’s old home, is marring one of the most iconic views in Wales. Now, following a ruling by the Welsh Assembly’s planning inspectorate, it must be demolished within the next six months. Planning chiefs at Carmarthenshire County Council issued an enforcement notice for its removal last year, but Ferry House owner and businessman Eric Eynon appealed against the decision. At a hearing held at the Assembly the council’s decision was upheld. |
