Venue: Room 1, Carmarthen Library
From 12 noon until 3pm we will be holding an “open afternoon” where members of the public representing registered charities, voluntary organisations, Town and Community Councils and Social Enterprises in your areas will be able to drop in and discuss their funding needs and project ideas with our team. If you are aware of any of the above groups in your area with any project ideas that need funding please highlight this event to them.

Laugharne is a Transition Town-but we have achieved little so far. Things are happening, we hope to have an allotment going and an Orchard. Anyone who is interested in helping develop the Transition Township, please contact me. We have the ability to develop two key concepts immediately-producing local foods(which is happening) and advice on energy saving in your house(pending). We could arrange a meeting on the latter -let me know if a public meeting would be of interest.

The Bristol Channel Floods occurred on 30th January 1607-many died down the Bristol Channel-and has been suggested it was a Tsunami. It affected Laugharne badly, and could have ended the township as a safe port-prior to that it was an important port. Interesting how things change-Bangor University used to until recently study the estuary-they may still do.
